Background Information
Mike qualified as a solicitor in 1972, became a partner in 1974 and senior partner in 2006. Mike has specialised in family law since the late seventies and is an accredited member of the Law Society's Family Law Panel.
Mike undertakes all types of family work and his speciality within the family law discipline is in high value financial disputes. In addition to his legal work, Mike has lectured in family law at Northampton College.
In his spare time Mike is a keen DIY and gardening enthusiast. He enjoys motor sports, snooker and travelling.
Jeff Creek

Background Information
Jeff was admitted as a solicitor in 1971 and has been with the firm since 1975. During that period Jeff has almost exclusively been involved in commercial and property matters.
Jeff’s varied work comprises the negotiating advising upon and drafting of commercial property transactions with allied financing transactions, commercial agreements, property development and project management agreements.
Jeff’s recent experience includes:
- acquisition and disposal following development of industrial and warehouse sites in various locations throughout England
- negotiating option agreements for developers and landowners
- acquisition and disposal of investment properties and portfolios
- negotiating acquisition of and setting up for sale residential development sites regionally and nationally
In his spare time Jeff is a rugby fan and can regularly be spotted supporting Northampton Saints at Franklins Gardens.
Jeremy Walker

Jeremy graduated from London University in 1973 and became a qualified solicitor in 1976. Jeremy has specialised in litigation matters since 1990.
Jeremy has worked for and represented private and commercial clients covering a variety of issues including; small claims, landlord and tenant disputes, commercial disputes, insolvency and debt recovery.
In his spare time Jeremy is a keen football supporter and is fan of Newcastle United. More recently Jeremy has taken up golf.

Peter Critchell

Background Information
Peter joined the firm as a trainee solicitor 20 years ago. Today he is a partner and head of the private client team.
Peter and his private client team deal with the administration of estates, inheritance tax planning, trusts, powers of attorney and wills. Peter specialised in the area of Law many years ago and is known for his solid advice and approachable manner.
When not in work Peter is a keen cook and is in fact a part qualified chef. Further hobbies include walking and cycling.

Alan qualified as a solicitor in 1981and has been a partner in private practice specialising in Family Law from 1983. Alan joined DFA Law in 2000 with a reputation as the pre-eminent high net worth matrimonial specialist in Northamptonshire. Alan is one of only four Legal 500 highly recommended family law solicitors in the East Midlands.
A former Chairman of the South Midlands section of Resolve (formerly known as the Solicitors' Family Law Association) Alan deals with disputes between married and cohabiting couples concerning finance and children quite apart from dealing with divorce, cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements.
Outside of work Alan enjoys all types of sports especially rugby - he is a rugby football union qualified coach. Alan is also a member of the committee which runs junior cricket in South Northamptonshire."

John Keeble

John joined the DFA team in 2007 having spent 8 years with regional heavyweight commercial practice Kimbells, where he headed their corporate group.
John has considerable experience in advising on high value and sophisticated corporate transactions including the acquisition and sale of companies, management buyouts, restructuring and corporate joint ventures. John also advises on general commercial contracts and has a particular interest in share option schemes.
Recent experience includes:
- advising on a £75m joint venture between two regional brewers
- advising the world's largest aircraft charter broker in the acquisition of a private jet operator
- lead legal adviser on the sale of medical prosthetics company for £90m
John trained with county firm Tollers, and prior to qualifying as a solicitor, was a Chief Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police. John enjoys sports of all kinds and regularly runs half-marathons.

Nigel Martin

Nigel joined the DFA team in 1991 following completion of his Articles. Nigel specialises in civil litigation and principal practice areas include: commercial litigation, personal injury, professional negligence, insurance, insolvency, debt recovery and enforcement. Nigel has considerable experience in commercial contractual disputes and has acted on behalf of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Nigel advises on consumer issues, can apply for injunctions relating to intellectual property, employment, copyright design and freezing orders and has extensive experience in dealing with personal injury claims. He is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.
Recent experience includes:
- obtaining a freezing order in the High Court of Justice to prevent disposal of assets
- acting for building contractor in successful claim against subcontractor for damages
- defending supply of goods and services consumer claim concerning a motor vehicle
When not in work Nigel likes to spend time with his wife and two daughters and enjoys most sports, theatre and music.

Mike joined DFA Law in 1998 from another well respected local private practice partnership. He has developed and maintained a long standing expertise in private and commercial property work.
Mike has an empathy and particular enthusiasm for helping small, medium and large growing businesses achieve their objectives through sale, acquisition and financing of business premises of all different kinds.

Barry McLoughlin

Barry became a solicitor in 1988 and joined DFA Law in 2007. Barry has extensive experience of property matters gained both as a private practice solicitor and working within the legal department of one of the UK’s leading banks.
His commercial property background includes environmental issues and property related contracts such as facilities management and contractor contracts. Barry acts for owners, lenders, landlords and tenant occupiers.

Robert Lynch

Robert has been a qualified Solicitor for over a decade and joined the firm in 2001. Originally a Litgation Solicitor, Robert now specialises in private client matters.
Today Robert deals with wills and probate issues and a wide range of taxation, trusts, administration of estates and lasting powers of attorney matters. Robert also teaches the Law of succession to other lawyers at a local college.
In his spare time Robert enjoys travelling having travelled extensively in the Far East and Australia, Robert also likes to socialise with family and friends.
