ProHelp
DFA Law joined Business in the Community’s pro-bono support programme, ProHelp, in May 2008. ProHelp encourages professional firms to actively support voluntary sector projects in their local community, by offering their skills and expertise to complete one-off pieces of work, free of charge.
“DFA Law brings the knowledge and expertise that compliments the services already being provided by Northamptonshire ProHelp. Community organisations find it difficult to access professional support services and ProHelp is a lifeline to such groups. Around 50% of all enquiries received require legal assistance.
Northamptonshire ProHelp is one of 30 groups in the UK, involving around 1000 member firms, providing over £2.5m worth of free professional advice every year to community projects. Around 950 projects are supported nationally every year, many in designated Regeneration Action Areas.”

ProHelp client feedback:
“It was enormously helpful when faced with a daunting contract, to have an expert look through it and highlight areas where we should ask for changes / clarification. We were given the confidence to challenge some of the terms and it made us realise the importance of seeking legal advice.”
“The advice we received made it possible to move forward with a staffing issue we thought was insurmountable. DFA Law quickly put the problem into perspective
and then helped us to solve it to everyone’s satisfaction.”
“The support we received was incredibly useful. As a small charity, we had never faced such an issue before. We now feel more confident as an agency, to handle similar situations in the future. Additionally, once the matter became litigious, we worked with the firm in a paid capacity (as we had every confidence in them) and they acted on our behalf to resolve the matter.
Even though we were paying them do this additional work, we feel that the total amount paid was still very reasonable.”
